Upgrading internal money transport without disrupting store operations
In retail environments, internal money transport needs to be secure, reliable and efficient. For
Metro Cash&Carry in Moldova, Telecom delivered a new pneumatic tube system to replace an older installation used for money transport within the store.
The challenge: replacing the system while the store stayed operational
The main challenge was to replace the existing system without interfering with the normal activities of the store. Since daily operations had to continue, the installation work was carried out during night shifts.
This required careful planning, efficient execution and a solution that could be installed without disrupting the customer’s work process.
A more robust system for retail money transport
Telecom was selected because of the combination of suitable pricing, equipment quality and regional availability. For this project, Telecom delivered a one-line pneumatic tube system with 12 manual stations and one
Luna station.
The new system replaced the older installation with a more robust and reliable solution for internal money transport.
No interruptions during implementation
The result was a successful replacement without interruptions to the store’s normal work process. The client was satisfied with the outcome, and the new system now supports more reliable internal money transport within the retail environment.
The positive experience also created potential for a follow-up project at another Metro Cash&Carry store in Balti.
This case shows how Telecom can modernise existing Pneumatic Tube Systems while keeping business operations running.
